saturday words 849. First scene rewrite done. Think it's too long by about half, but we'll see. The song of the day is "Hummingbirds" by Venus Hum. I'm usually pretty indifferent to videos, but I really like this one. Probably because when I was about the age of that kid, that's the kind of thing I'd have done. ( Here, have some lyrics )I need more Venus Hum music. Speaking of hummingbirds, here's one I got a picture of while I was thrashing around in the Greenbelt last week: Kinda blurry but you can still see him. He was all attitude: he'd visit a few flowers, then sit on this branch and yell at me, then visit some more flowers. I didn't see many birds in that part of the Greenbelt, though I heard what was probably a red-tailed hawk. Cool. Current Mood: indescribable |

Shirley Bassey rocks my socks I'm sorry to be so lacking in actual content lately, but I had to share this one after I was alerted to its existence by Matthew, my hairstylist. Pink's "Get The Party Started"... as covered by Dame Shirley Bassey. Yes, really. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find the mp3... Current Mood: enthralled |

How I ended up with two rentals Well, the good news is, the stuff in storage turned out to be fine. The flooding last winter doesn't seem to have touched it. The bad news is, there was a lot more of it than I remembered. Still only one pickup load, though. sidhefire was still happy to lend me her household's pickup truck, Ursa. My plan was to drive up to the weigh station, where the big long-haul trucks get weighed, drive over the scale and find out how much Ursa weighs empty. Then I'd drive her back to the storage, get all the stuff into her, drive her over the scale again and by subtraction find out how much the stuff weighed. Now, Ursa is a 1989 Ford F-150, brown and white, rust-bitten and full of the kind of eccentricities that a work truck will pick up in the course of 19 years. Quite honestly, I don't think she'd be legal in Massachusetts, but the West is more lenient, especially when it comes to trucks that mostly just haul dirt (topsoil from the farmers' supply) and garbage (there's no trash or recycling pickup here; too far out in the country.) That was the plan. Where it began to go wrong ( Read more... ) |

So Aiden was really sick weds night. Well my Saturday plans are now shot. The stomach bug that A had Weds has been passed to me as of 3:00 this morning. It's been a very bad night for me. H & A are still likely off to a g'day for little Alex. I will be doing the apple juice, saltine, netflix, sleep regimine. I will be checking AIM and texts all day (while conscious) Human interaction would be nice. (I may be slow to respond) If I appear on AIM as offline MSG me anyways. My iPhone AIM sometimes shows me offline even when I am logged in. Waves and hugs Current Mood: sick |

No Faire... So as most of you looking forward to the Washington Renaissance and Fantasy Faire already know, it has been canceled this year, due to a lack of proper permits. I feel terrible for everyone that depends on the faire for a major sources of income, as it is hard to find something else last minute. I know some of the other faires and events have opened their arms to wayward merchants, and I hope the same is happening for the paid performers. For myself, life goes on. I will probably go to my family reunion which is the first weekend of faire, and help Regan at Autumn War for the second weekend. The third we may have a performing gig... or not. I want to get some hikes in on Cougar mountain if anyone wants to join me. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my best days, but not this coming week as I'll be out of town visiting mom. Lacking transport of my own, I'd be happy to pay for gas if the someone joining me was willing to drive. Current Mood: tired |

You can find stories all over the place.... I think there should be more testing on this vaccine before doctors start literally bullying their patients into getting it.
