Call for projector
Hey, does anyone out here in our friends list have a digital oprjector we can use to project jpgs behind the band for the show on the 16th?

We have some really neat things that we'll be able to do if we have one...

Thanks!

I can arrange to check one out from the University of Washington, if you can't find anyone who owns one. Let me know by the Monday beforehand, more or less.

Wow - you so rock! Do you know anything about lumen output etc? I'm not sure exactly what I need, but I'm guessing the lowest output that would work would be around 2000.

The really bright, long distance ones (6000 lumens) are really EXPENSIVE to rent - like $600 a day. The 10,000 lumen machines they just say "call for price..."

I'll be doing research - I think it needs to brodcast about 25-30 feet on the high end. We want it to be big enough for everyone to see. I think at FW they just used a regular slide projetor the first year we were there and it worked fine...

Here's the link:

They only offer one type of projector. I can vouch for it in conference rooms, but I've no idea how it would work in a bigger environment.

Hey there! Yes, please if we can borrow it, it sounds like it will work!

What do we need to do to make it easy for you?

Thanks SO much!

I've put in the reservation. I can pick up the projector Friday and they need it back by the 21st. When do you need it?
I'm coming to the show, of course; right now I'm planning to get there maybe twenty-thirty minutes in advance, but I can be there earlier if you need more setup time. I can always have my friends meet me at the show.

If I had my druthers, I arrange to pick it up Friday so we can test it in the room. (We'll be setting up Friday night!)

Someone (probably me) will be driving around Friday picking up rental gear. We get into the room at Shoreline at 6pm.

Something I noted on the website - "Our 3 day projectors have 2000 lumens, and our 7 day projectors have 1200-1500 lumens."

I don't know if that truly affects anything - I *think* we'll be ok with 12-1500 lumens, but 2000 lumens would be better. It won;t have to go through bright lights...

Thank you SO much! I think it'll really help with putting on an interesting show...

Friday's fine.

I'm at UW all day, and will be busy teaching from 4:30 to 7:30. If you come by campus any time before then, I can give you the projector. I'll pick it up around 8:30 am.
The best place to meet is at the loading dock behind the Chemistry building: http://www.washington.edu/home/maps/southcentral.html?CHB

I reserved the 3-day, 2000 lumen machine; you'd mentioned something about that upthread.

I'm very excited to see the show.

Hey, I've forgotten your real life name! (This is happening to me WAY too much!)

Who do I ask for? (Feel free to send that to me in a private message to chrisb at gaiaconsort dot com...)

I'm glad you're excited - we've been working pretty hard on the stuff and it sounds really good to me...

Only place I can think of is SPCC. You might contact Allena.
