Suprise, not.
Who the hell is Mike Gravel?

If American corporations knew what the legalization of recreational drugs does to boost the illusion of freedom, the prisons would be almost empty.

Whomever Mike Gravel is, most of the people I know are supposed to be voting for him.

One of my LJ-friends did a major amount of campaigning for Gravel. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I share this link to his entries on Gravel.

Wow, that's weird. Apparently I don't agree with anyone and it doesn't matter much who I vote for, since the top 10 candidates on my list were tied with 50% each and the others were lower.

It's just an illusion, you say?

Hi, sweetie! You must be feeling better. That's good! :)

Here's why the prisons are full and doing a booming business:

Andrew Calhoun is the ex-husband of our friend Kat, both of whom are stellar song writers and singers. I'm not sure if you can read his blog post via that link or not, but it's worth figuring it out for the hackles it will raise. Andrew is an amazing man and I wish we could spend more time with him.

Yes, I am feeling better - I'm glad we didn't have a huge agenda this trip. Since we don't really have tons of dollars, we had planned to stay in pretty much anyway.

Still, walking around is mostly free and now we have a day to do that - we'll see just how much wonderous cheese we can bring back and not break the bank.

I've done a lot of sleeping but, don't know that I've missed much had I been well. Got a chorus to the "Soon Parted" thing I've been working on and think it will be the first DC tune :-) I'm psyched - the lyrics just take time...

Soon we enter the big bird and fly the ocean and the continent.

Andrew's link fills a few bits I didn't have - the specific numbers of the prison industry and numbers in prison under Nixon. In the Soviet Union no one saw the Black Marias driving around painted as grocery trucks with prisoners inside. Clearly the US has learned a thing or two from Stalin.
